At Prickly Spa in South Austin, we try to keep you with the same laser hair removal technician as much as possible. By your third or fourth appointment, we want you walking in to someone who knows your skin, your progress and how you like to be treated.

There’s a practical reason for that. There’s also a very personal one, especially if you’re booking a Brazilian.

Is it better to see the same laser hair removal technician?

Seeing the same technician helps them follow how your hair is changing and how your skin responds over time. They’ve seen your earlier treatments firsthand, and they can ask you about the reaction afterward.

Did the redness settle quickly? Did anything feel different this time? How is the regrowth looking? Those answers help us plan your next treatment. Familiarity makes that conversation easier.

Should my laser settings be the same at every appointment?

Your previous settings are a starting point for assessment, not an instruction to copy. Your technician performs a fresh hair and skin analysis at every visit. We check your response to the last session, your progress, medications, recent tanning and any changes since we saw you.

If an unsuitable setting gets copied from one appointment to the next, the problem can carry on. Settings that are too conservative can affect results; settings that are too aggressive can put your skin at risk. We look at your treatment history and the hair and skin in front of us before deciding what to use today.

That applies even when you see the same person. Knowing your skin doesn’t mean skipping the analysis.

How experienced are Prickly’s laser technicians?

Every Prickly technician has more than 10 years of laser hair removal experience. They know how to assess hair and skin, choose settings and watch your skin’s response during treatment.

We use the Lumenis LightSheer Quattro with 805 nm and 1060 nm handpieces and ChillTip contact cooling. Experienced technicians and the right equipment work together. Neither replaces paying attention to you.

Brazilian laser hair removal is personal. We get it.

A familiar technician already knows if you’re nervous, when you need a pause and what helps you feel comfortable. You can ask the question you were too embarrassed to ask last time without feeling like you’re starting over with a stranger.

What if my usual technician isn’t available?

We make consistency a priority, but we can’t promise the same technician at every appointment. If someone else treats you, they review your history and do their own fresh hair and skin analysis before proceeding.
